June 9,2026: Moving is expensive. Between application fees, a security deposit, first month’s rent, and the moving truck, most renters spend thousands before they’ve unpacked a single box. Starting today, Sunny gives some of that back.
What’s new
When you find your next apartment on Sunny and sign a lease at an eligible property, you get Cash Back after you move in. Eligible listings show the Cash Back amount right on the listing, so you know what you’ll earn before you tour.
Sunny is free to use. Cash Back doesn’t change your rent or your move-in costs.
How it works
- Search apartments on Sunny and look for listings with Cash Back.
- Schedule a tour, contact, or send a message to the property
- Sign your lease directly with the property.
- Move in, Sunny will verify your move-in for you and let you know when your Cash Back is in your account!
- Choose Venmo or a gift card, and get paid.
Why we’re doing this
Apartment properties pay to reach renters. Usually that money goes to ads you scroll past. We think a bigger share of it should go to the person actually moving in, you! Sunny is part of Apartment List, so we can bring that idea to properties nationwide.
